It is important for everyone on the World Wide Web to understand that whatever they do, post, share, link, or even pretend to propagate is monitored by some or the other mean. Google, the number one search engine online strives hard in order to make sure that the users get the best search results for their queries. Their web surfing team makes sure that the users are not directed to any spam links. Imagine searching for a local pizza store and being redirected to a site offering you to download a dozen virus files disguised as music. Yes, this is how Google protects you, and how do they do that?
For all website hosts, the nightmare call is when they see a warning in their Google Webmaster Tools. The warning that contains information about the host’s website that uses SEO services containing unnatural links is a result of the manual action taken by Google. It is a proven fact that our dear Google has employees dedicated for the purpose of churning out websites with suspicious links.
The First Warning:
The first kind of warning from Google talks about the unnatural links from your site. This normally shows up when you use ranking techniques against the Google guidelines.
1. The first step is to identify any links on the site that you had paid for; they can even be the ones that appear to violate Google’s guidelines, including excessive link exchanges.
2. Users can either remove these links, or you can apple a rel=”nofollow” tag, so that they no longer pass Page Rank.
3. Once the website is no longer violating Google’s guidelines, users can ask for reconsideration of your site. After the reconsideration request has been submitted, hosts must be patient and be on the lookout for a message in their Tools account —and it will tell them if their site has been reviewed. If Google feels that the site is no longer in violation of their guidelines, they’ll be more than happy to revoke the manual action.
The Second Warning: The next warning comes when there are some unnatural links pointing to your site. Google detects a pattern in this case, which leads them to your site through these unnatural links, and then comes the warning. Again, the host can be penalized for this. This can be corrected through the following steps:
1. Hosts can download a list of links to their site from Webmaster Tools. They can download their links through numerous ways.
2. The link list must be thoroughly checked for any links that are in violation of Google’s guidelines on linking. This list could be long so patience is a necessity.
3. Users can opt for the Disavow links tool in Webmaster Tools to disavow the links they were unable to have removed after seeking assistance from the other website’s webmaster.
The Third Warning:
1. While there are chances that some hosts might not be so welcoming to the unnatural links on their site, like in the above case, there are chances that some might be.
2. For this particular reason, Google has come up with the third warning for people indulging in Black hat SEO services by using unnatural links to lead users back to their websites.
3. This warning can also appear without the domain hosts indulging in any such practices, but hey, you can always prove your might through the reconsideration requests and also putting across a few evidences of your non-involvement in the same.
At the end, it’s important for any domain host to recognize and understand the problem before taking any action. If you are a host, then we ask you to only remember one thing; timely action always pays off. Do not mess with wrong SEO services. Stay honest, stay correct, and most importantly, stay cool!
